For Immediate Release:
Announcing the World Wide Call to Forgive In Honor of the 12th Anniversary of the International Day of Forgiveness.
Marin County, CA: The call to forgive will be sounded on August 3rd, 2008, as people the world over will unite in a synchronized guidedforgivenessmeditation to forgive “the unforgivable” in themselves and others, making the choice to let go of the pain of their past and to set themselves free.
What Life Would You Be Living
If Your Past Did Not Hold You Back?
The focus of this joined effort is to create a powerful wave of the energy of compassion and understanding that will move through the planet bringing the healing power of forgiveness to everyone suffering and in pain.
Last year forgiveness was celebrated in New York, Hawaii, Washington State, Oregon, Ghana, Canada and Nigeria as well as Southern California. This year, it will also be celebrated in England in partnership with The Forgiveness Project based in London.
In collaboration with the Worldwide Forgiveness Alliance, Auriela McCarthy, author of The Power of the Possible created a comprehensive 45 minute Video WEBINAR addressing the controversy of forgiveness, people’s resistances and misconceptions around it and why forgiveness is the only way for a lasting and permanent change – see link at www.PowerOfThePossible.com
In addition to the video, two forgiveness meditations: to forgive yourself and toforgive anotherhave been recorded for streaming and downloading by people all over the world to meditate together at two synchronized times: at 11am EST and at 1pm EST on August 3rd 2008. The links are available at www.PowerOfThePossible.com
“Forgiveness is a personal choice and can never be forced”, says Auriela. “While in truth,” she continues, “nothing is unforgivable, there are things we as society and each of us individually have deemed unforgivable. The paradox of forgiveness lies in the fact that even they have to be forgiven if we are ever to have a chance at a life free from pain.”
“As we set ourselves free of the past, we can also inspire and bring hope to others. There is nothing our world needs more than compassion and understanding. No change can happen without forgiveness happening first. It has to start with us. As we heal ourselves, we can hold the light for others. And then the light will point the way.”
“Be the change you want to make,”
- Mahatma Gandhi.
